Shield Presa Canario

We established our Presa Canario breeding program in order to fill our need for a ready source of dogs for our protection program.  The Presa Canario is the ideal breed for protection of family and property as they incorporate size, presence, fierce guarding instincts and a stable temperment.  As with all breeds there is great disparity between bloodlines and breeding programs.  Here at Shield Presa Canario we carefully select our breeding dogs for health, temperment and workability.  We are excited to be working with some of the best bloodlines in the world!

Why a Presa Canario?

We have raised, trained and bred numerous Malinois and German Shepherds.  While these dogs tend to be the breeds of choice for protection and police work they are often too high energy and high maintenance for the average family home.  The Presa Canario tends to be a calmer dog in the home and less prone to destructive behaviors.  In addition well bred Presa are social in public while also remaining naturally protective of their people and property.  In addition the average Presa is much more physically intimidating then other breeds.  Just the sight of these dogs is often more then enough to deter those with criminal intent.
